Professional hair care brand Farouk Systems was founded in 1986 in Houston by Farouk Shami, a hairstylist whose mission is to provide professional hair care with the most advanced American technology. The Farouk Systems brand includes other popular brands such as CHI, BioSilk and Esquire Grooming. The brand was the first to introduce ammonia-free hair dye and to use silk proteins in hair care.
